According to foreign media reports, wejo, a British Internet car data start-up, released the neutral server plus and announced cooperation with Daimler. Daimler is the first automaker to benefit from the service. Wejo has an advantage in the data market of Internet vehicles. In the United States alone, its platform has more than 10 million vehicles. This cooperation will expand the company's data collection capacity in Europe. (photo source: wejo official website) Richard Barlow, founder and CEO of wejo, said, "we are very pleased to work with Daimler to open a large number of European automobile data to more than 230 enterprises that have obtained data licenses. We are proud of Daimler's success in leveraging our data products and services. We look forward to helping more automakers succeed in this area. " Central server plus is supported by the company's cloud based data exchange platform adept. Adept simplifies the sharing and access of huge networked vehicle data. Currently, adept supports more than ten markets, each of which has hundreds of application scenarios. Adept processes near real-time and historical data, with an average of 15 billion data points per day, or 1 billion miles of data every three days. Thanks to adept's central server plus feature, licensors can choose to receive both on-demand data services and streaming data services at the same time. Barlow also said, "this cooperation with Daimler and the launch of central server plus are two important milestones for us to create a global travel data ecosystem. Our platform, which will have millions of European cars, is critical to improving our data insight and will have a significant impact on our partners and drivers. " Wejo will access data generated by five categories of vehicles through Daimler, including pay as you go insurance, fuel status, vehicle status, vehicle lock status, and specific data of electric vehicles. Wejo's central server plus will play a role as a channel for third parties, namely insurance companies, electric vehicle charging suppliers, fuel suppliers, intelligent mobile travel service providers, etc., to access the data of connected vehicles without signing agreements with Daimler. Wejo's new product line will allow businesses to use on-demand data for specific vehicles with one-to-one consent, display vehicle consumption information in applications, and trigger alerts based on vehicle status, such as damage or unauthorized use. It can also provide accurate vehicle data for consumer products, such as accurate mileage data for insurance.
