According to foreign media reports, on December 9 local time, the information quoted people familiar with the matter as saying that Uber Technologies Inc. is in-depth negotiations on the acquisition of foresight, a start-up company developing simulation software. (photo source: Uber) did not mention the terms of the deal, but said the purchase price mainly covers the cost of hiring the team behind foresight. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, foresight produces software for autonomous driving. Uber's simulation software has various defects, and it still has difficulties in predicting how its prototype car will cope with the real world, the report quoted sources as saying. A Uber spokesman declined to comment, and foresight did not respond to a request for comment. In fact, this is not the first time Uber has acquired a technology company related to autonomous driving. In June, three people familiar with the matter, who declined to be named, said Uber was recently in talks to acquire Seattle start-up mighty AI, which focuses on developing training data for computer vision models. Mighty AI, founded in 2014, develops software that helps computer vision systems mark and recognize objects. Autopilot business is the focus of the company, but other areas such as cashier cashier and precision agriculture can also make use of the technology. Over the years, the company has been testing autopilot at the robotics plant in Pittsburgh, and plans to start autopilot taxis in 2020. But in recent years, the autopilot plan has suffered some setbacks.
