According to the German federal government's plan, the number of electric vehicles in Germany will reach 7 million to 10 million by 2030, German automobile Weekly reported. Can the current electric vehicle development promotion plans in major cities and towns in Germany meet the requirements? According to a recent survey released by Ernst & Young consulting, three quarters of large and medium-sized towns in Germany have launched electric vehicle development promotion plans to invest in the development of electric vehicles. Of the cities and towns with more than twenty thousand permanent residents, 74% have started or planned investment plans for electric vehicles. In contrast, only 16% of the respondents have not yet determined or started planning for electric vehicle development. Among the planned or determined electric vehicle investment plans, the most important investment project is the electric transformation of urban public transport system, which is planned for 61% of the cities and towns interviewed. 57% of cities and towns have reached cooperation with charging infrastructure manufacturers, or have intention to cooperate. About half of the respondents have installed charging devices or plans in public places. About a third of the towns surveyed already have specific parking spaces for electric vehicles. In order to achieve the goal of climate protection, the number of electric vehicles in Germany must grow rapidly in the next few years, but the current situation is that the growth rate remains at a low level. In the next few years, automobile manufacturers will launch a number of electric vehicles intensively, and electric vehicles will enter the market in large quantities. At the same time, the German government has spent a lot of energy on the construction of charging network. As of mid November, there were about 21000 public charging points. But in rural areas, the number is still very low.
