Since this year, with the release of a series of heavy policies, the development trend of energy conservation and emission reduction in the domestic automobile industry has become more and more significant, which puts forward higher requirements for automobile lightweight. Especially in the case of the continuous decline of the automobile market and the increasingly fierce competition of new energy vehicles, lightweight has become an important direction for the automobile industry to break through the difficulties. In this context, leading automobile enterprises such as Guoen group take automobile lightweight as the future development direction, and new material leaders such as Guoen group increase their layout in the field of lightweight materials. Since this year, many provinces (districts and cities) have announced the implementation of the national six emission standards in advance. At the same time, the amendments to the measures for the parallel management of average fuel consumption and new energy vehicle credits of passenger car enterprises (Draft for comments) and the new energy vehicle industry development plan (2021-2035) (Draft for comments) and other important policies were released. Energy saving and emission reduction will become the main trend of the future development of automobile industry. According to the development plan of energy saving and new energy vehicle industry (2012-2020), the average fuel consumption of passenger cars produced in 2020 will be reduced to 5.0l/100km. Data shows that in 2018, 141 enterprises in China produced 23.1391 million passenger cars, with an average fuel consumption of 5.80 L / 100 km. There is still a long way to go. The research shows that for every 15% weight loss, gasoline passenger cars can reduce fuel consumption by 5%, diesel passenger cars can reduce fuel consumption by 6%, and electric cars can reduce electric energy consumption by about 9%. In the past two years, the domestic car market has been in a slump. How to reduce energy consumption and improve car performance through lightweight has been regarded as the key direction for the auto industry to break through the difficulties. Since July this year, the sales volume of new energy vehicles in China has declined for five consecutive months year-on-year. With the development of new energy vehicles, the market competition will be more intense, and higher requirements are put forward to improve the endurance mileage and enhance the competitiveness of new energy vehicles. Xinda Securities pointed out that there are three main ways to improve the endurance mileage, and vehicle lightweight is the lowest cost and the fastest feasible way. In this context, many leading car companies regard lightweight as one of the important directions of their future development. Take Dongfeng Motor as an example. The outline of Dongfeng 2020-2030 science and technology development plan was released in September this year, which will coordinate the development of nine major technical areas. Among them, lightweight is put in front of the "new four modernizations of automobile" of electrification, intelligence, networking and sharing, and the company puts forward the development of "five modernizations of automobile". In many lightweight schemes of automobile, the application of lightweight materials such as glass fiber and carbon fiber has become the mainstream direction. Taking carbon fiber as an example, Cinda Securities pointed out that carbon fiber has the characteristics of small density, high strength, small coefficient of thermal expansion, good thermal conductivity, good corrosion resistance and good wear resistance. When carbon fiber is used in automobile, it is beneficial to realize the lightweight of automobile and improve the energy saving, acceleration and braking performance of automobile. In recent years, the advanced polymer composite industry, represented by glass fiber and carbon fiber, has developed vigorously and opened up a broad market space. According to the market and markets forecast, the global market size of composite materials (mainly carbon fiber composite materials, glass fiber composite materials and others) will rise from $69.5 billion in 2015 to $105.26 billion in 2021, with an average compound annual growth rate of 7.04%. Gao Xiang, vice president of New Energy Vehicle Research Institute of China electric vehicle 100 people's Association, said at the "new material application and Development Conference and automobile lightweight non-metallic material industry alliance seminar" held at the end of November that there are few general assembly links of carbon fiber composite materials, large-scale application has industrial feasibility, and there is a huge space for the future. According to the calculation, the total demand of automobile carbon fiber in 2020 is expected to reach 690000 tons, corresponding to the market scale of 48.3 billion yuan. In front of the broad market prospect, listed companies such as China Jushi, Sinoma technology, Guangwei composite and Guoen Co., Ltd. accelerate the layout of lightweight material market. Guoen Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise of new materials, pointed out that the company had technical cooperation with BAIC Research Institute on thermoplastic fiber composite products, and developed and launched new lightweight composite products such as seat frame beam assembly. The company is the first company in China to launch the application of glass fiber reinforced composite materials in the production of key structural parts of automobiles, which has achieved substantial weight reduction while ensuring the strength. In 2017, the company raised 750 million yuan for the advanced polymer composite project. After the project is completed, it will form the production capacity of the advanced polymer composite products with an annual output of nearly 40000 tons, and add high-quality composite materials and composite products such as glass fiber, carbon fiber, continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic materials. On September 4 this year, the company said that some equipment of the project had been installed and debugged.
