On November 21, Schaeffler and Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Management Committee formally signed an investment cooperation agreement in Changsha. Based on the advantages of local industrial clusters, combined with Schaeffler's technical expertise and R & D strength, the two sides will work together to build an ecosystem of intelligent driving automobile industry in the region and support the development of China's intelligent Internet connected automobile industry. According to the agreement, Schaeffler will establish a wholly-owned company in Xiangjiang new area, Hunan Province, and the second R & D center of Schaeffler in Greater China and Schaeffler China intelligent driving Research Institute, which will introduce electromechanical integration products and technologies related to chassis systems such as space drive line control technology, mover platform system, 90 degree intelligent line control steering module, etc. which are applied to intelligent driving into the new area. The new R & D center will rely on Schaeffler's global R & D network and technical expertise, work closely with the regional R & D center located in Anting, Shanghai, and work together to develop future intelligent driving technology. This also means that the core technology and products of Schaeffler intelligent driving will be transferred from the promotion stage to the implementation stage in the Chinese market. Hu Zhongxiong, deputy secretary of Changsha Municipal Party committee, attaches great importance to the successful signing of cooperation between the two sides. He believes that the intelligent Internet eco industrial chain is a blue ocean, and the two sides will integrate the upstream, midstream and downstream and resource allocation, and deepen and sublimate the project cooperation. In fact, just two months ago, under the witness of the prime ministers of China and Germany, Schaeffler and the Management Committee of Hunan Xiangjiang new area signed a cooperation framework agreement at the Great Hall of the people in Beijing. It is understood that the line control technology that Schaeffler will put into production in Changsha is the core technology to realize the future intelligent driving, which can be used in L4 and L5 levels. In fact, this technology has been applied in other fields for 17 years, and has become a very mature technology. In the automobile market, many spare parts enterprises have begun to research and develop line control steering and will gradually promote it. Mover is an open vehicle platform, which is characterized by high flexibility and environmental protection. The platform adopts the innovative concept of driving chassis and integrates all parts and systems including driving, steering and braking to realize driving functions. Based on the platform, a variety of vehicle concepts can be realized to meet the needs of different scenarios of unmanned driving in the future.
