Recently, we learned from the official that the I3 express charge is officially launched. The price of the new car is 305800 yuan, and the NEDC's endurance mileage is 340km. There is no difference between the new car configuration and the 2020 fast charging version, but the official price has dropped by 34000 yuan, and the public charging service is free for one year. The appearance and configuration of 2020 BMW I3 and 2019 BMW I3 fast charging models have not changed, both of which maintain the family design language of I3. The new car provides many practical configurations, such as tire pressure monitoring, wireless charging of mobile phones, WiFi hot spots in the car, 10.25 inch HD display and apple Carplay. In terms of power, the BMW I3 express charger is equipped with a new battery pack developed in cooperation with Samsung SDI, with a capacity of 42.2kwh. Under NEDC conditions, the endurance mileage can reach 340km. At the same time, it is equipped with a 50KW DC fast charging interface. Under ideal conditions, it takes 40 minutes to fully charge 80% of the electricity. The power part of the new car is the same as that of the old model, equipped with permanent magnet synchronous motor, the maximum power is 125KW, and the peak torque is 250N ยท M. In terms of quality assurance, the I3 fast charging and smooth driving model has a 3-year vehicle warranty, during which it can enjoy free unlimited power shortage trailer service. In addition, BMW also provides 8-year / 120000 km warranty service for the vehicle's three electric system (battery, motor and electric control system). As the first model of BMW, the sales volume of BMW I3 in the world last year has exceeded 30000, and the sales performance in the new energy vehicle camp is also remarkable. However, the driving range of the new car is 340km, but the price is as high as 305800 yuan. Compared with the pure electric vehicles of the same brand in the current market, BMW I3 has not much competitive advantage except for its high brand influence. As a brand to be benchmarked by BMW in the field of new energy, at present, the price of domestic Tesla Model 3 has been reduced from 355800 yuan to 323800 yuan before the subsidy. In addition, the new energy subsidy of 24750 yuan can be obtained. After the final subsidy, the price is only 29905 yuan, and the comprehensive driving mileage of the car is 445km. In addition, it has been recently reported that Tesla's Shanghai plant may introduce cobalt free batteries (i.e. lithium iron phosphate batteries), and the price of model 3 is expected to drop to 250000 yuan (unconfirmed). To be sure, at present, the localization rate of parts in Tesla Shanghai factory is about 30%, which is planned to be increased to 70% - 80% by July 2020, and to 100% localization by the end of the year. With the improvement of localization rate, the cost and price of domestic model 3 will also be reduced simultaneously. Therefore, it is not so difficult for BMW to understand how to reduce the price to enhance the competitiveness of I3 in the market. However, in terms of the current product strength, Tesla has obviously taken more than one step first. If BMW wants to catch up in the future competition, it is more important to improve its product strength and service level.
