The establishment of the laboratory aims to meet the requirements of new energy vehicle enterprises, power and battery parts production and enterprises' R & D, inspection, quality assessment and export certification in the Yangtze River Delta and nationwide, comprehensively guarantee the safety of power battery, and assist in regulating market order. Data shows that in 2018, China's production and sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 1 million, ranking first in the world for three consecutive years. But at the same time, the frequent occurrence of events and problems related to the safety of power batteries, such as the spontaneous combustion of new energy vehicles and the short battery life, has sounded the alarm for the new energy vehicle industry. As one of the three core components of new energy vehicles, the power battery not only accounts for about 40% of the cost of the vehicle, but also directly determines the safety and endurance mileage of the vehicle. Nowadays, the development of China's power battery industry is about to enter a new stage of rapid development. Safe, long-life, high specific energy power battery will become the mainstream of industrial demand, and the demand for power battery detection will continue to grow. T Ü V Nande strives to build Changzhou new energy vehicle testing laboratory and provide professional one-stop testing and certification services for new energy vehicle manufacturers. The laboratory covers an area of 6000 square meters, equipped with advanced large-scale vibration table, safety test and explosion-proof room, high-precision and high-power charging and discharging equipment, air purification and other facilities as well as perfect fire-fighting facilities. The laboratory is mainly divided into three platforms: battery performance test and evaluation, environmental reliability test and evaluation, and safety abuse test and evaluation. Its test capability covers various products of power battery unit, module, pack (battery pack) and system level, which can meet a number of international standards and China's national standards. As one of the only power battery safety test room experimental institutions with scientific design, perfect configuration, safety and environmental protection in China, the laboratory can cover high-power battery system, and the single channel of high-precision charging and discharging equipment can meet the test requirements of 1200V / 1200A battery pack. Based on the understanding of "V-model" product development, the new energy vehicle testing laboratory in Changzhou, South Germany, carries out supporting construction according to German technical requirements, comprehensively supports customized projects required by industry and enterprise research and development, and carries out comprehensive power in the whole life cycle.
