According to the relevant provisions of "performance requirements and test methods of passenger car tire pressure monitoring system" approved by the National Standardization Management Committee before, from January 1, 2020, all passenger cars in production will start to implement the requirements of mandatory installation of TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system). TPMS, airbags and ABS (anti lock system) constitute three major safety systems of automobile, which can effectively prevent traffic accidents. Because tire inflation or lack of air will affect the safety of automobile, many countries and regions, such as the United States, the European Union, have legislated to enforce TPMS. TPMS can be divided into three types: direct, indirect and hybrid. Among them, the direct TPMS uses the pressure sensor fixed in each wheel to directly measure the air pressure, uses the wireless transmitter to send the pressure information from the inside of the tire to the system on the central receiver module, and then monitors the air pressure data of each tire. When the tire pressure is too low or leaks, the system will automatically alarm and let the driver know whether the wheel is abnormal through the tire pressure number of each tire. Indirect TPMS is used together with the anti lock system (ABS) of the vehicle. Its working principle is that when the air pressure of a tire decreases, the weight of the vehicle will make the rolling radius of the wheel smaller, resulting in its speed faster than other wheels. By comparing the speed difference between the tires, the purpose of monitoring the tire pressure is achieved. Its disadvantage is that it can not show which tire is in the state of high and low pressure, so it has certain limitations. Hybrid TPMS needs to be equipped with two additional tire pressure sensors and a radio frequency receiver in the system, which can monitor the status of each tire. However, there is a lack of reliability and flexibility in the system, which is not suitable for the aftermarket. Since January 1, 2020, TPMS mandatory installation regulations have been formally implemented, which will bring a significant demand growth for the tire pressure monitoring related market. Some insiders said that the implementation of mandatory policies will promote the rapid increase of TPMS penetration rate in 2019-2020. It is estimated that the market size of TPMS industry in China will reach 2.683 billion yuan and 4.378 billion yuan respectively in 2019 and 2020. In this field, the most noteworthy companies are four-dimensional innovation, Baolong technology, Junsheng electronics and other companies involved in automobile sensor business.
