On November 21, baidu Apollo vehicle road collaborative project officially landed in Yangquan, Shanxi Province. Baidu and Yangquan will jointly promote the construction of intelligent transportation and accelerate the implementation of technologies such as automatic driving and vehicle road coordination. This time, Yangquan, together with Baidu, Shanxi traffic control group and China Mobile Communication Group Shanxi Co., Ltd., signed a cooperation agreement on the project of automatic driving vehicle road collaborative demonstration zone. According to the agreement, through the construction project of Shanxi Yangquan auto driving and vehicle road Collaborative Innovation Demonstration Zone, Yangquan will cooperate with Baidu and other parties to carry out the "auto driving + vehicle road collaborative" demonstration application, integrating artificial intelligence, v2x, 5g, edge computing and other technologies, to provide support and guarantee for automatic driving technology verification, test evaluation and operation services. In December 2018, Baidu's automatic driving business landed in Yangquan, launched a number of complex scene pilot projects such as vehicle road coordination, and promoted the construction of the whole industrial chain of automatic driving. In January 2019, 22 Apollo automatic driving data acquisition and test vehicles carried out a series of tests and scientific research in Yangquan section of Wuyu Expressway in Shanxi Province. 2019 is a year of rapid progress for Baidu Apollo. In August, Baidu and Chongqing City reached a cooperation to land the project of automatic driving and intelligent transportation; in September, Apollo taxi fleet officially started trial operation in Changsha, Hunan Province; in November, baidu officially launched the large-scale manned test of automatic driving taxi in Cangzhou, Hebei Province. It is worth mentioning that Robin Li, chairman and chief executive of Baidu, is the Yangquan people in Shanxi. The new Baidu Apollo project landed in Shanxi Yangquan, which seems to be Robin Li's feedback to her hometown.
