A series of problems in the automobile manufacturing industry are in front of us, and the concept of intelligent manufacturing cloud system emerges as the times require. On January 7, QAD, a 40 year old professional cloud solution provider in the manufacturing industry, held a media conference in Shanghai to explore the digital transformation of the automobile and parts industry and discuss the future prospects of Intelligent Cloud manufacturing. What is "cloud computing"? Simply understand that cloud computing is a kind of resource network that provides users with access to "cloud" resources at any time and pays for use according to demand. In a broad sense, cloud computing is a service related to information technology, software and the Internet. Cloud computing gathers many computing resources and realizes automatic management through software. QAD is an ERP software company in the United States, focusing on the vertical segmentation of manufacturing services, including six major areas of automobile, consumer goods, food and beverage, high technology, industrial products, life sciences. In recent years, QAD has developed rapidly in the field of automobile. According to survey data, at least 93 of the world's top 100 best-selling models are related to QAD. The enterprises that supply spare parts for these best-selling models are using QAD's ERP system and cloud services. Cloud Computing: key intelligent manufacturing for digital transformation of component enterprises is a popular topic, but at present, Chinese manufacturing enterprises are in a dilemma. The downward pressure of the automobile market is transmitted to the upstream parts suppliers, and the parts enterprises bear 3% - 5% annual pressure reduction every year. Digital transformation is imperative to reduce cost and increase efficiency, enhance technology added value and industrial added value. In June 2019, QAD and Alibaba cloud jointly launched the "QAD China Cloud" project, and announced that the QAD adaptive ERP (QAD intelligent ERP) cloud platform was launched to Alibaba cloud, aiming to accelerate the pace of digital transformation of manufacturing industry, help manufacturing enterprises to develop innovation in the field of intelligent manufacturing to maintain competitive advantage in the future. Nexteer is an important partner of QAD. It has moved the ERP system to the cloud to realize cost reduction and efficiency increase. At the end of December 2019, the two sides formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement based on "QAD China Cloud". Chen Heping, managing director of QAD Greater China, said that QAD China Cloud deployment helped to build the smart ecosystem of nexteer automobile cloud, enabling nexteer automobile to achieve faster growth. In the list of top 100 Chinese auto parts enterprises in 2019 released in September 2019, AVIC automotive system Holding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "AVIC") ranked fifth. Nexteer automobile is the automobile steering and power transmission system enterprise of AVIC, which plays a key role in the list. According to preliminary statistics, QAD cloud business has achieved 30% growth for many years in a row. At present, 15% of the old customer groups transfer their business to the cloud, and there are 85% potential market growth in the future. For China's business, Anton Chilton, QAD's chief executive, is full of confidence: "we hope to develop more new local customers in China through QAD cloud platform, new technology architecture and professional solutions." Cloud Computing: China has hundreds of thousands of auto parts enterprises, while there are few large-scale enterprises, and the level of production quality is uneven. According to the results of the third survey on the current situation of quality management of manufacturing enterprises conducted by China Quality Association, the average maturity of quality management of manufacturing enterprises in China is 55.54 (full score 100), and the quality management level of manufacturing industry in China still needs to be improved. Why is quality management so uneven? Compliance standards, system decentralization, information isolation, lack of indicators and other problems have not been well solved. According to statistics, at least 78% of manufacturing enterprises have feedback at present, and lack of cohesion in the quality management process. The quality management of most companies stays at the stage of inspection and containment rather than prevention. In quality management, new technologies such as data visualization, process index visualization and real-time report generation will help enterprises improve quality management level. In 2013, QAD acquired the joint venture cebos, whose main core business is to provide quality management solutions for enterprises.
