It's going to be split up. The car has a dedicated Wi Fi band

As we all know, wireless spectrum is a very sophisticated thing. In order to achieve network security and continuity, we need to specify different frequencies for different types of devices, so that they are distributed in different locations of the spectrum. Therefore, mobile phones and routers only support 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands. However, the wireless spectrum is also a limited resource. With the increase of wireless devices used by people, the network speed becomes slower and slower, and the service becomes more and more unstable. Recently, Ajit Pai, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), announced that it plans to split the wireless frequency band reserved for vehicle V2V communication technology and use it for Wi Fi network. It is understood that in order to achieve communication between vehicles, as early as 1999, the 5.9 GHz band was allocated to car manufacturers. In theory, this V2V communication technology can make the car safer, but automobile manufacturers largely ignore this technology, so most valuable parts of the 5.9 GHz band are not well utilized. Ajit Pai said the 5.9 GHz band reserved for cars but used less should be split to meet the demand of the rapidly growing number of wireless devices. This also means that if the mobile phone, router and other devices support the 5.9ghz band, the channel congestion on the other two bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz) will be alleviated. Of course, for car consumers, to buy a more intelligent, more interconnected and V2V capable car, the waiting time may become longer. However, according to the plan proposed by Ajit Pai, the frequency band reserved for vehicle enterprises will not be fully used for Wi Fi, but only a part of it. In addition, the FCC needs to vote to decide whether to adopt Ajit Pai's proposal. The FCC expects an initial vote on December 12.
