Although the Geneva auto show was forced to cancel, the latest design achievement, Tracy concept car, was released by the Istituto European di design (IED) on schedule. This is an all terrain 6-seater electric concept vehicle, designed for the master's thesis of transportation design of IED Turin branch, aiming to combine the concept of micro travel with that of private, public and shared travel, so as to benefit the environment. In terms of dimensions, Tracy concept car has compact structure, with length, width and height of 3740 × 2205 × 2083 mm and wheelbase of 2890 mm respectively. For reference, the carnival is 4040 mm long and 1734 mm wide. Although the new car is much smaller than the carnival, it has four-wheel drive function, powered by a dual battery pack, and has a complete electric drive system. In addition to its asymmetrical appearance, Tracy has two functional areas inside. The first center, dedicated to the driver, and the second in the lounge sofa, dedicated to five passengers. There are two different ways to get in and out of the car. The left side is the driver's entrance (only one door), while the passengers get in and out from the right side. In addition, Tracy comes with a mobile application that can program the vehicle as needed. The application will then lead to the start of purposeful or leisure travel, whether short or long. "We use a culture of experimentation and innovation to provide courageous solutions for the future of new intelligent transportation systems," said Paola Zini, director of IED Turin. Tracy has expanded the field of research beyond the range of vehicles, pointing a new direction for shared mobility.
