According to the FIA, F1 (World Formula One Championship) has made a commitment to significantly rectify the large amount of carbon dioxide generated by the event and to achieve the carbon neutralization goal by 2030. But in fact, the proportion of carbon dioxide from the car itself only accounts for 0.7% of the total. Most of the carbon emissions come from freight, personnel transportation and other aspects. According to F1 official data, it produced about 25.7 tons of carbon dioxide in 2019. F1 hopes to gradually reduce carbon emissions and achieve carbon neutralization in 2030. According to F1 statistics, in fact, the carbon dioxide from the test and competition (racing car itself) only accounts for 0.7% of the total carbon emissions, while the carbon emissions generated by the freight and personnel transportation of F1 events account for more than 71%. In order to implement the sustainable development strategy, F1 will focus on building 100% renewable energy office, team facilities and factories, and F1 will no longer use disposable plastics. In terms of personnel transportation, F1 also plans to provide incentives for fans who go to the venue, such as walking, cycling or electric vehicles, to ultimately ensure zero carbon emissions by 2030.
