According to foreign media reports, in January 7th, Wind River, the intelligent edge software provider, announced cooperation with China Baidu Inc to develop an automatic driving vehicle solution. At present, Fenghe and Baidu have jointly developed a concept verification, that is, an AUTOSAR adaptive software framework built by using Baidu Apollo open platform to meet the specific challenges brought by the new generation of software definition cars. (photo source: Fenghe) Baidu is the world's largest Chinese Internet search engine, Internet integrated information service company, and the world's leading artificial intelligence (AI) platform company. Baidu's Apollo project aims to provide an open, reliable and secure software platform for partners in the ecosystem, so that partners can develop their own automatic driving system. The concept verification highlights Baidu Apollo automatic driving framework and Fenghe's AUTOSAR adaptive software framework, and supports heterogeneous systems with mixed key security requirements. Open source software such as non security critical applications (such as information entertainment) can run on Fenghe Linux, while commercial RTOS (real-time operating system) such as VxWorks can support security critical applications that need to determine performance. Using a software architecture that includes both safety critical and non safety critical applications on the same piece of hardware can save car manufacturers a lot of material costs and vehicle power consumption. Fenghe company can meet various computing needs of customers, and can create a computing environment that can accommodate a variety of Linux based workloads. The Linux based workload is designed to be seamless and hard real-time, deterministic VxWorks RTOS works together to enable customers to combine open source with time proven, reliable and secure authentication computing software at a low cost.
