Recently, Netcom learned from the official channel of Hongqi that the new energy vehicle factory project of FAW Hongqi was officially started, with a total investment of 7.8 billion yuan, which will be completed and put into operation in 2022, with an annual production capacity of 200000 vehicles. According to statistics, FAW Hongqi brand rose against the trend in the first quarter, with sales exceeding 25000 units, a year-on-year increase of 87.4%. FAW market share in China reached 16.6%, achieving "a good start". After the start of the new plant, it will inject new blood into the high-quality development of FAW. It is reported that the new factory will be mainly used to produce new energy vehicles of Hongqi brand and intelligent Internet connected vehicles. Xu Liuping, chairman of China FAW Group, said that the commencement of the construction of Hongqi new energy automobile factory showed FAW's ambition of independent innovation and its strong ability and confidence to invest in the future when the global automobile industry shrank significantly.
