China Huaneng said that in recent years, with the rapid development of wind power in the UK, the intermittent and volatile characteristics of wind power output have led to the prominent contradiction between power supply and demand. After the completion of Mendi battery energy storage project, it will become the largest battery energy storage project in Europe, which can provide emergency support power in case of accidents in the main grid and effectively improve the security level of the grid. Data shows that China Huaneng has a registered capital of 34.9 billion yuan, which is a state-owned enterprise. It is mainly engaged in the production and sales of power supply, electric power (heat), development, investment, construction, production and sales of finance, coal, transportation, new energy, environmental protection related industries and products, industrial investment, operation and management, etc. China Huaneng's official website shows that since this year, there have been no less than three overseas projects invested and constructed by Huaneng Group, including two energy storage projects. According to the relevant data, it is predicted that by 2024, the deployment scale of residential energy storage system in Europe will increase 5 times to 6.6gwh, and the annual new installed capacity will be more than twice the current one. Among them, BYD's energy storage projects in European and American markets can be said to be the focus of its overseas layout. In the UK alone, BYD has operated more than 325MW of energy storage projects by July 2019, accounting for about 40% of the UK market. At the beginning of this year, Ningde times has obtained an order from powin energy in the United States, with an order amount of 1.85gwh. Its lithium iron phosphate battery will be integrated into the latest model of powin energy's battery storage system stack225 to ensure the battery supply before 2022. At present, its home energy storage system has been mature and commercial in Australia, Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, France and other countries, becoming one of the major domestic lithium battery suppliers in Europe and Australia. It has achieved joint commissioning and mutual testing with more than 15 major domestic inverter brands, and the overall installation volume has exceeded 30000 households. It is worth noting that while actively distributing overseas energy storage, domestic enterprises should actively understand the policies and power markets of various countries, and formulate effective energy storage solutions according to different application scenarios.
