Brilliance plans to build an annual production capacity of 50000 vehicles in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, and will build two new pure electric models. On December 23, the Environmental Department of Jiangsu Province accepted the application of the project, which is expected to be passed after the end of the publicity period. The announcement information shows that the project will be officially completed in 2020 with a total investment of 1.695 billion yuan. "Huachen Automobile Group Holding Co., Ltd. Wuxi Branch annual output of 50000 pure electric cars project", located in Xishan District, Wuxi City, the project rents land, plant and other fixed assets of Wuxi Runxin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and invests in the construction of stamping, welding, coating, General Assembly four process production lines and sewage treatment, power energy, public auxiliary engineering and other equipment and facilities. After completion, it will produce pure electric car products similar to those of brilliance group, forming an annual production capacity of 50000 pure electric cars. The project will build two micro pure electric cars, code named w32h and w35h, of which the w32h size is 3288 × 1670 × 1563mm, wheelbase is 2185mm, and the planned annual production capacity is 20000. The other model code w35h is slightly larger, 3583 × 1670 × 1564mm, wheelbase is 2480mm, and the planned annual production capacity is 30000 vehicles. The two new cars adopt four seat layout, and the planned pure electric endurance mileage is 300km. In recent years, Chinese brands have been flourishing in the field of new energy vehicles, while brilliance automobile appears to be too "low-key", and the scale of production and sales of new energy vehicles has been abandoned by other brands. How to keep up with the market is the problem that brilliance is facing. According to the plan of brilliance automobile, in 2020, it will launch a high cost-effective model oriented to the private market to meet the market demand without subsidies; in 2021, it will launch medium and high-end products of electric proprietary platform.
