Recently, it was announced that aion LX (AIAN LX) will be equipped with high-precision maps of deliverable applications, so as to better realize the automatic driving function. It is reported that compared with the traditional map, the positioning accuracy of high-precision map can reach centimeter level, and at the same time, it can recognize three-dimensional things, such as multi-layer interchange, etc. In terms of applicability, officials say the system can be used on all high-speed and urban expressway in China. GAC new energy aion LX (AIAN LX) will develop a high-precision map with deliverable applications to enable the vehicle to achieve L3 level (conditional) functions. It is reported that the high precision map is specially designed for the automatic driving system, which directly serves the intelligent driving decision controller, while the traditional map provides the navigation for the driver, and the two are of different nature. In terms of positioning accuracy, the official said that the traditional map positioning error is several meters, while the high-precision map accuracy can be controlled within 10 cm, laying a strong foundation for automatic driving. In addition, the high precision map can identify the slope, curvature and heading of each lane, including large data such as lane, lane boundary and lane limit. It can provide a stronger perception and judgement for the automatic driving system, such as identifying multi-storey overpasses. The high-precision map can also predict the traffic conditions of 1km ahead in advance, and provide stronger monitoring capability for vehicles with cameras, radars and other sensors. In addition to GAC new energy, in early March 2020, it launched a low orbit satellite project and is expected to complete the launch within 2020. Low earth orbit satellite refers to the man-made satellite with an orbit height of 200-2000km. Compared with GPS, Beidou navigation and other systems, the former has a lower orbit height. For this reason, low earth orbit satellite has more advantages in ground mobile communication, navigation and positioning. Geely's launch of the satellite project undoubtedly also takes into account plans in the field of intelligent driving.
