According to foreign media reports, 2021 Sienna models will only be designed. Toyota insiders disclosed to overseas media that the next generation of Sienna model with full hybrid will be unveiled at the end of this year. At present, the specific configuration of its hybrid system is not clear. One possible option is to improve the current 3.5L V6 engine with a more efficient Atkinson cycle engine. In contrast, the 2020 Highlander hybrid version gives up the original 3.5-liter engine and uses the hybrid version of 2.5-liter four cylinder engine, which pays more attention to economy than speed. The new Sienna models are likely to follow, with a basic electric four cylinder engine or an optional electric V6 engine. This is not the first time that the in-line four cylinder engine has been used in this model. Sienna has been equipped with a 2.7L four cylinder engine. If the engine is to be reused, the 2021 Toyota Sienna needs to be properly lightweight as it transitions to the company's tnga platform. Version "Sienna prime" is also likely to be included in the plan. The power system of this model is a 2.5-litre in-line four cylinder engine with optimized front and rear motors powered by high-capacity lithium ion. The current Sienna model is equipped with a V6 engine that can produce a maximum power of 296 HP (221 kW), compared with a Sienna prime that can provide a maximum power of 302 HP (225 kW). In addition to the hybrid Sienna, insiders also said that Toyota will launch a new crossover vehicle this fall, which is a pure hybrid. It is not clear whether the new model will be the cross model or the Venza model. In addition, Toyota expects to launch a new CUV next year.
