It has been many years since the high-performance version of Touareg was revived. It will not be confirmed until October 2019. At the 2020 Geneva auto show, which opens next week, we will usher in the global debut of a new generation of Touareg R. Recently, Volkswagen officially released the official map of the new car and relevant information. The new generation of Touareg r takes over the role of Touareg R50. The biggest change is that the plug-in hybrid system replaces the previous 5.0L V10 TDI in power, becoming the third PHEV plug-in hybrid model of Volkswagen after GTE and Passat GTE, and also the first four-wheel drive model of Volkswagen. The new generation of Touareg R is powered by a 335 HP (250 kW) 3.0 litre V6 TSI gasoline engine and a 134 HP (100 kW) motor. The total output power of the system is 455 HP (340 kW) and the peak torque is 700 nm. In contrast, the Touareg V8 TDI and sq7, which are popular in the market, share a 4.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with a rated power of 416 HP and 900 nm, and Touareg R is not willing to give up. The power is transmitted to 4MOTION four-wheel drive system through 8-speed automatic transmission and Torsen central differential lock acting as transfer case, thus driving four wheels. According to the working condition, up to 70% power can be transmitted to the front wheel, or up to 80% power can be transmitted to the rear wheel. 14.1 kwh lithium-ion group is installed under the trunk floor, and only relying on electricity, tourui R can drive 43-48 km at a maximum speed of 140 km / h. In terms of performance, the new generation of Touareg R can achieve 0-100 km / h acceleration in 5 seconds, and can reach the electronic limit of 250 km / h. The new generation of Touareg r has a maximum towing capacity of 3.5 tons and is equipped with a variety of safety systems including Trailer assist. The driver can select e mode (zero emission mode) and mode (optimal setting), and can also set the required battery charging level, so that the V6 engine can be transformed into a generator to charge the battery pack, while improving the level of brake recovery. Other driving modes include economy, comfort, normal, sports and customization, as well as off-road and snow mode. If the off-road package with increased underbody protection is selected, two driving modes, gravel and sand, will be added. In terms of appearance, in addition to the round four-way exhaust pipe without Golf R, the square two-way two-way exhaust pipe is adopted, the new generation Touareg r adopts the exclusive bumper and air inlet, the lower part of the door, the black decorative strip of the side window, the black rearview mirror cover and the black grille of the R series. It also features a dark LED headlight and a 20 inch Braga alloy wheel. In addition, 21 inch Suzuka or 22 inch Estoril wheels can be selected, as well as the unique azure blue metallic body coating. In terms of interior decoration, R series elements can also be seen everywhere, including the Vienna grain perforated leather seat with R embossed logo and contrast stitching, the leather wrapped multi-functional steering wheel in the new model, the silver corrugated aluminum trim strip on the dashboard and door card, the center console in contrasting black and silver, and the stainless steel door sill trim lamp. Touareg r also offers a unique choice of Puglia black leather fabric, with dashboard blue decorative fine stitching and Sepang blue piping. The standard configuration of the new car is also very rich, including 12 inch digital instrument panel, 15 inch infotainment system, 4-zone automatic air conditioning, LED matrix headlights, panoramic sunroof, etc. In addition, Volkswagen also offers night vision, Dynaudio premium sound system, driving aid system and other options. So far, the price and time to market of the new generation of Touareg R have not been officially announced. However, it is certain that after the global launch of 2020 Geneva auto show, Touareg r will also be in the Chinese market.
